The current draw uses only comments successfully loaded, up to 500 top-level threads. Replies or unavailable comments may be incomplete, so do not describe the result as a draw from every comment.
How the random YouTube Comment Picker works
The tool retrieves eligible public comments for the submitted video, applies the filters you select, and randomly chooses from the remaining entries. It does not retrieve private, deleted, held-for-review, or otherwise unavailable comments.
Run a transparent selection
- Publish clear eligibility rules and a closing time before collecting entries.
- Submit the exact public video and load the available comments.
- Choose duplicate-user and keyword filters that match the published rules.
- Record the eligible count and selection result for your own audit trail.
Example interpretation
If 500 comments are retrieved but duplicate-user filtering leaves 320 eligible users, the selection is made from those 320 entries. The tool cannot prove that each account belongs to a unique person or that every eligible comment was available through the API at the time of retrieval.
Limits and giveaway responsibility
API pagination, quotas, moderation, disabled comments, and account restrictions can affect the pool. Random selection does not make a promotion legally compliant.
