YouTube Video Metadata Checklist Score
Analyze your YouTube video metadata and get a Metadata Checklist Score with actionable tips to improve ranking.
This public-metadata checklist is an editorial aid, not a ranking grade. Views are an outcome, and tags usually have a limited discovery role.
What the Video SEO Score means
The score is a TubeRank publishing checklist based on observable video metadata. It can flag missing or unclear titles, descriptions, tags, and other basic elements. YouTube does not publish an official “SEO score,” and this result is not a prediction of rankings, recommendations, views, or revenue.
How to use the audit
- Submit a public video URL.
- Check which metadata elements were found and which need attention.
- Apply only recommendations that make the video clearer and more accurate for viewers.
Example interpretation
A video with a descriptive title and a useful opening description may receive stronger checklist coverage than a video with missing context. Adding repeated keywords only to raise a score can make the page worse. The best revision explains the video’s actual subject, sets the right expectation, and helps viewers decide whether it answers their need.
Important limitations
The checker cannot see private watch time, satisfaction surveys, audience retention, click-through rate, policy status, or the full competitive context. Those signals can matter more than metadata. YouTube’s public API documentation describes the available video resource fields; anything outside those public fields is not verified by this tool.
