YouTube Transcript Converter

Paste a video link and get the transcript — as clean paragraphs, SRT or VTT subtitles, chapter markers, or a CSV. Works with videos and Shorts. No sign-up, nothing to install.

Fetches the transcript automatically. Shorts links work as-is.
Paste a transcript instead
  1. 1 On YouTube, click …more under the video title.
  2. 2 Click Show transcript, select it all and copy.
  3. 3 Paste below. An .srt or .vtt file works too.

For a Short: change /shorts/ in the URL to /watch?v=. That opens the same video in the normal player, where Show transcript sits in the description.

Auto-detects the YouTube transcript panel, SRT, VTT and plain text.

When there is no transcript. A transcript only exists where captions exist. If a video has no caption track — music-only clips, very short uploads, or captions the creator switched off — then no tool can produce one, and this one will tell you so rather than return something invented. Automatic captions also arrive without punctuation, so nothing here adds any: guessing where sentences end would put words in a creator's mouth.
